Brachypelma Hamorii

Brachypelma hamorii is a vulnerable species of tarantula found in Mexico, native to the western faces of the Sierra Madre Occidental and Sierra Madre del Sur mountain ranges in the states of Colima, Jalisco, and Michoacan. It has often been confused with the closely related Brachypelma smithi, and both have been called the Mexican redknee tarantula, with many earlier sources not distinguishing between the two species. It is a large, terrestrial spider, with adult females reaching a total body length over 50 millimeters and males having legs up to 75 millimeters long, and it is a popular choice among tarantula enthusiasts, in part owing to its long lifespan.
