Broad Buckler-fern

The broad buckler-fern, Dryopteris dilatata, is a robust, deciduous to semievergreen species of fern in the family Dryopteridaceae, native to western and central Europe and to mountainous areas further south, with an additional range extending between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. It typically grows to about ninety centimeters tall and a hundred and twenty centimeters wide, its dark green, finely divided, tripinnate fronds bearing ribs covered in brown scales.
