California Sea Lion

The California sea lion is a coastal eared seal native to western North America, its natural habitat ranging from southeast Alaska to central Mexico, including the Gulf of California. It is one of six species of sea lions and is sexually dimorphic, with males larger than females and carrying a thicker neck and a protruding sagittal crest; the species mainly hauls out on sandy or rocky beaches but also frequents manmade environments such as marinas and wharves, feeding on a number of species of fish and squid and preyed on by orcas and great white sharks.
