Chattonella is a genus of marine raphidophyte algae in the phylum Heterokontophyta, made up of five recognized species: C. subsalsa, C. antiqua, C. marina, C. minima, and C. ovata. These unicellular flagellates live in brackish coastal waters and are associated with harmful red tide blooms.
