Common tusk shell, Antalis vulgaris, is a species of tusk shell, a scaphopod mollusk with a tapering, tube-shaped shell open at both ends resembling a small elephant tusk. It is mainly encountered burrowed into sandy seafloor sediment at depths ranging from about five to one thousand meters, where it feeds on microscopic organisms drawn in by thread-like feeding tentacles extending from its buried end.
