Dulse

Dulse, Palmaria palmata, is a species of edible red algae native to the cold rocky coastlines of the North Atlantic and North Pacific, growing attached to rocks and other seaweeds in the intertidal zone. Traditionally harvested by hand along the coasts of Ireland, Scotland and Atlantic Canada, its reddish-purple fronds have long been eaten dried as a chewy snack or ground into flakes as a savory, salty seasoning, and it is notably rich in protein and minerals compared to many other edible seaweeds.
