The Durango salamander, also called the pine wood salamander, is a mole salamander endemic to Mexico, found in the states of Durango and Chihuahua, where it inhabits ponds, shallow lakes, and pine oak forest. It was formally described in 2004 by Robert G. Webb. The IUCN lists it as data deficient, meaning there is not yet enough information to assess its true conservation status.
