Eastern Indigo Snake is a large, non-venomous snake native to Florida and the southern parts of Georgia and Alabama, and it holds the distinction of being the longest native snake species in the United States, with the longest recorded specimen measuring about 2.8 meters. Despite being classified as Least Concern by the IUCN, it is listed as a federally threatened species in the United States due to habitat loss.
