Field Hornwort is a species of hornwort in the family Anthocerotaceae. It is treated as the model species for studying hornwort biology, including traits unique to hornworts such as their symbiotic relationship with the cyanobacterium Nostoc and their use of pyrenoids, cell structures that concentrate carbon dioxide and enhance photosynthesis.
