Great Ramshorn Snail

Planorbarius corneus, commonly known as the great ramshorn, is a relatively large species of air-breathing freshwater snail, an aquatic pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the ram's horn snail family Planorbidae. Native to Europe, it is most common in central Europe and the Balkans, carries the protein hemoglobin in its blood, allowing it to live in oxygen-poor environments, may live up to six years in captivity, and likely has a reproductive cycle of about one year.
