The hairy frog, also called the horror frog or Wolverine frog, is a Central African frog whose common name comes from the hair like structures that grow on the body and thighs of breeding males. It is usually treated as the single species of its own genus, Trichobatrachus, though its genetics suggest it may actually belong with the related genus Astylosternus.
