Hobo Spider is a funnel-web spider native to Europe and Central Asia that has also become established in the Pacific Northwest and Great Basin regions of western North America. It measures 7 to 14 millimeters long, brownish in color with V-shaped chevron markings on its abdomen, and builds a funnel-shaped sheet of silk to catch prey; contrary to earlier concern, there is no clear evidence its venom is dangerous to humans, and the CDC removed it from its list of venomous species in 2017.
