Joshua Tree

Yucca brevifolia, commonly known as the Joshua tree, yucca palm, tree yucca or palm tree yucca, is a monocotyledonous tree species in the genus Yucca, native to the arid southwestern United States, specifically California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada, and to northwestern Mexico. It is confined mostly to the Mojave Desert at elevations between 400 and 1,800 metres, thriving in the open grasslands of Queen Valley and Lost Horse Valley within Joshua Tree National Park; other large populations grow northeast of Kingman and along U.S. 93 near Meadview in Arizona's Mohave County, and in Saddleback Butte State Park in Los Angeles County's Antelope Valley.
