Jumping Spider

Jumping spiders are arachnids of the family Salticidae, comprising almost 700 genera and around 7,000 described species, making them the largest spider family at roughly 13 percent of all known spider species. They have exceptional stereoscopic color vision, which they use in courtship display, hunting and navigation, and although they typically move slowly and deliberately, most species are capable of rapid, targeted jumps when pursuing prey or evading threats. They are distinguished from other spider families by four pairs of eyes, with an enlarged, prominent anterior median pair at the front center, and by a respiratory system that combines book lungs with a tracheal system.
