Hemiscyllium galei, the Cenderawasih epaulette shark, is a species of bamboo shark in the family Hemiscylliidae, formally described in 2008 by Gerald Allen and Mark Erdmann alongside the related Hemiscyllium henryi. It lives in shallow reef habitat at depths of 2 to 4 meters in Cenderawasih Bay off West Papua, Indonesia, with the largest recorded specimen measuring 56.8 centimeters. It is distinguished from the related Hemiscyllium freycineti by seven prominent dark spots along its sides and by white margins on its dark dorsal saddle markings; its restricted range at a single bay leaves it vulnerable to environmental pressures, and the IUCN assesses it as Vulnerable.
