Ruditapes philippinarum, the Manila clam, is an edible species of saltwater clam in the Venus clam family Veneridae. It is also known as the Japanese littleneck clam, Japanese cockle or Japanese carpet shell, called geli in China, asari in Japan and bajirak in Korea.
