Meadow Horsetail (Equisetum pratense), also known as shade horsetail or shady horsetail, is a widespread horsetail that commonly grows in forests with tall trees or thick foliage, typically thicker and closer together near streams, ponds and rivers. Its species name pratense is Latin for pasture or meadow dwelling.
