Microwhip Scorpion

The microwhip scorpion, genus Eukoenenia, is a group of tiny, pale, blind arachnids in the order Palpigradi, found worldwide from Europe and North Africa to Madagascar, Asia, Australia and the Americas. The genus comprises more than eighty described species, most associated with caves and other dark, moist subterranean habitats, and is named for the long, thread-like flagellum trailing from the rear of its body, a feature shared by the whole order. Palpigradi is one of the smallest and least studied arachnid orders, and Eukoenenia is by far its largest genus.
