The music volute is a species of medium to large sea snail in the family Volutidae, found in shallow coastal waters of the Caribbean Sea, valued by shell collectors for the distinctive markings on its shell, which resemble musical notation and give the species its common name. It is a carnivorous predator that hunts other mollusks and small invertebrates in sandy or muddy substrates.
