Peacock Day Gecko

The peacock day gecko is a species of lizard endemic to the coastal regions of eastern Madagascar, where it is described as abundant and widespread. It measures about 12 centimeters long including the tail and is bright green with small red markings, a pale underside and large dark spots on either side of the abdomen that vary from two to four depending on the population. It occupies a range of low and mid elevation habitats including forest and land used for cultivation, sometimes associating with Pandanus plants.
