Precious wentletrap, Epitonium scalare, is a marine gastropod mollusk of the family Epitoniidae, the wentletraps, native to the Indo-Pacific. Its tall, elegantly ribbed, spiral shell was historically prized enough by European shell collectors to command high prices before its true abundance in the wild became known, and like other wentletraps it is a predatory or ectoparasitic snail that feeds on sea anemones and related cnidarians.
