The Sagalla caecilian is a limbless, worm like amphibian, family Herpelidae, known only from a single isolated mountain, Sagalla Hill, in Kenya's Taita Hills, within an area of about twenty square kilometers. It lives underground in moist forest soil and farmland edges, using a pair of small retractable sensory tentacles near its snout, and is classified as endangered because its entire range lies outside any protected area.
