Salicornia europaea, known as marsh samphire, common glasswort or simply glasswort, is a halophytic annual dicot flowering plant. It is a succulent plant with a high water content that gives it a slightly translucent look, and it grows near saline water in Europe, where it is eaten both raw and cooked.
