Temminck's Pangolin

Temminck's pangolin, also called the ground pangolin, ranges across savanna and woodland habitats of eastern and southern Africa and is the most terrestrial and wide-ranging of the African pangolins. It walks on its hind legs with its front claws held clear of the ground, digs burrows, and feeds on ants and termites, playing an important role in regulating insect populations. It is one of the pangolin species most often seized from illegal wildlife trade within Africa and, like the rest of its family, is considered threatened.
