The turtle frog is a small, round bodied frog of southwestern Australia, family Myobatrachidae, with short limbs and a tiny head that give it a turtle like silhouette. Unlike most burrowing frogs, it digs forward with its strong front limbs rather than backward with its hind legs, tunneling underground to feed directly on termites in their nests.
