Verdigris Agaric

The verdigris agaric, Stropharia aeruginosa, also called the blue-green stropharia, is a medium sized woodland mushroom with a vivid blue-green, slimy cap that fades to yellow-ochre as it ages. It grows across Europe, Asia and North America in grassy woodland and especially in wood-chip mulch in gardens and parks. Its edibility is disputed: most Western field guides treat it as poisonous with unclear effects, while some European sources consider it edible despite an unpleasant spicy taste.
