Verticillium Wilt Fungus

Verticillium wilt is a plant disease caused by several fungal species in the genus Verticillium, which colonize the vascular tissue of susceptible plants and cause wilting, yellowing and dieback. Economically important crops vulnerable to the disease include cotton, tomatoes, potatoes and eggplants, among others, while monocot plants such as grasses and cereals are generally immune.
