Yellow Sac Spider is the common name for Cheiracanthium, a genus of araneomorph spiders found primarily across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and India, with only two species native to the New World. They are pale spiders with yellow to beige abdomens measuring 5 to 10 millimeters long, and although their bite can cause pain and swelling, a study of twenty confirmed bites in the United States and Australia found none resulted in necrosis, challenging earlier claims about the severity of their venom.
