Ophiocordyceps unilateralis, commonly known as zombie-ant fungus, is an insect-pathogenic fungus discovered by the British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace in 1859. Ants infected by the fungus, often described as zombie ants, are predominantly found in tropical rainforests.
