Zostera marina, commonly called common eelgrass or eelgrass, is a flowering vascular plant and one of many kinds of seagrass. It is a saline, soft sediment submerged plant native to marine coastlines of the northern latitudes, from subtropical to subpolar regions of North America and Eurasia.
