The largest class of crustaceans, with a body typically divided into a head, a thorax bearing walking legs, and a segmented abdomen. Malacostraca includes crabs, lobsters, shrimp, crayfish and the terrestrial woodlice, and dominates crustacean diversity in both marine and freshwater environments.
