Apiaceae

Apiaceae, commonly known as the celery, carrot, or parsley family, or as the umbellifers, is a family of flowering plants in the order Apiales and is the sixteenth largest family of flowering plants, with more than 3,800 species in about 446 genera. Its defining feature is an inflorescence in which flowers are gathered into umbels, simple or more often compound. The family includes major vegetables and herbs such as carrot, celery, parsley, parsnip, dill, fennel, coriander, and cumin, as well as toxic species such as poison hemlock and water hemlock.
