Boraginaceae

Boraginaceae, commonly known as the borage family or forget me not family, is a family of flowering plants in the order Boraginales within the asterid clade, comprising about 90 to 120 genera in its narrower circumscription or up to about 155 in its broader one. Its leaves are alternate or a mix of alternate and opposite, its mostly bisexual flowers are typically borne in coiled scorpioid cymes with a five lobed calyx, and most species have hairy leaves whose mineral bearing hairs can irritate skin. The family includes borage, forget me nots of the genus Myosotis, and comfrey.
