Campephagidae

Campephagidae, the cuckooshrikes, is a family of small to medium-sized passerine birds comprising 107 species in 11 genera, found across the subtropical and tropical regions of Africa, Asia and Australasia. They are generally long and slender arboreal birds ranging from the 16-centimeter small minivet to the 35-centimeter largest species, most colored predominantly grey with white and black markings, though minivets carry bright red, yellow and black plumage and the blue cuckooshrike is glossy blue. Despite the name, cuckooshrikes are not closely related to either the cuckoos or the shrikes, and DNA studies suggest a possible relationship to the Old World orioles instead. The family is mainly insectivorous with a noted preference for large hairy caterpillars, though some species also take small vertebrates and plant matter.
