Icterids, family Icteridae, are small to medium-sized, often colorful New World passerine birds comprising 108 species in 30 genera, including the blackbirds, orioles, grackles, meadowlarks, cowbirds, oropendolas and caciques. Most species show black plumage often set off with yellow, orange or red. They occur across the Americas, with the highest concentration of breeding species found in Colombia and southern Mexico.
