Panuridae

Panuridae is a monotypic bird family containing a single species, the bearded reedling, also known as the bearded tit or bearded parrotbill, in the genus Panurus, with no close living relatives among the passerines. The species is found across temperate Eurasia, from Spain, France and the British Isles to the Manchurian region, and expanded its range north into Scandinavia and Finland during the twentieth century. It is a small bird, 14.5 to 17 centimeters long, with a notably long tail and orange-brown plumage; males have grey heads with distinctive black moustache markings and a whitish throat and chest, while females are paler and browner. Bearded reedlings are strongly sexually dimorphic, form lifelong pair bonds, can raise multiple broods in a season, and live in reed bed wetlands.
