Rhinolophidae

Rhinolophidae, the horseshoe bats, is a family in the order Chiroptera containing a single living genus, Rhinolophus, with roughly 106 species, the second most speciose bat genus after Myotis. They are named for their distinctive horseshoe-shaped nose-leaves and use highly sophisticated constant-frequency, high-duty-cycle echolocation calls to navigate and hunt in cluttered environments. The family is distributed across the Old World, mainly in tropical and subtropical Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania, with some Palearctic species.
