Salamandridae is a family of salamanders comprising true salamanders and newts, distinguished by the lack of rib grooves along the body, rough granular skin with numerous poison glands, and the absence of nasolabial grooves. Most species produce potent toxins and display bright warning coloration, and they possess four well-developed limbs, typically with four toes on the front limbs and five on the hind limbs, ranging from about 7 to 30 centimeters in length.
