Aeromys, the large black flying squirrels, is a genus of two species found only in Southeast Asia: the black flying squirrel and Thomas's flying squirrel. The genus, established by Robinson and Kloss in 1915, belongs to the family Sciuridae, subfamily Sciurinae, and tribe Pteromyini, and its common name refers to the dark coloration of its members.
