Avahi

Avahi is a genus of nine species of strepsirrhine primates known as woolly lemurs, in the family Indriidae. They are endemic to Madagascar, inhabiting both the eastern rainforests and the western dry deciduous forests of the island, and rank as the smallest indriids, with a head and body length of 23 to 33 centimeters and an average weight of about 1 kilogram. Their short, flocky fur ranges from gray brown to reddish, with a long rufous tail and a white stripe running up the thigh, and a round head with a short muzzle and ears hidden by fur.
