Biswamoyopterus is a genus of very large, elusive flying squirrels found in forested parts of northeast India, southwest China, and Laos. Three species are currently recognized, the Namdapha flying squirrel, the Mount Gaoligong flying squirrel, and the Laotian giant flying squirrel, though recent research suggests they may represent a single species; two of the three are known from only a single specimen each. Members of the genus are easily mistaken for the more common Petaurista giant flying squirrels with which their ranges overlap.
