Coloeus

Coloeus is a genus of two species of jackdaws in the crow family Corvidae, closely related to but generally smaller than crows and ravens. The western jackdaw breeds throughout Europe, northern Asia and northern Africa and shows a blackish crown, wings and tail against paler grey plumage with pale irises, while the Daurian jackdaw ranges from China and eastern Siberia east to Japan, is smaller, has nearly white pale areas rather than grey, and has dark irises. Both species are assessed as Least Concern.
