Cygnus

Cygnus is the genus of swans, large waterfowl within the family Anatidae, grouped with geese in the subfamily Anserinae and the tribe Cygnini; swans are the largest living waterfowl and rank among the largest flying birds in their respective ranges. There are six living species; the coscoroba swan is no longer classified as a true swan despite historically being included in some classifications. Swans typically mate for life, though separation occasionally happens after nesting failures or the death of a mate, and egg clutches range from three to eight.
