Dremomys, the red-cheeked squirrels, is a genus of five living species found only in Asia, across Bangladesh, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Taiwan, and Malaysia, including the orange-bellied Himalayan squirrel. Placed in the subfamily Callosciurinae within the family Sciuridae, the genus has a fossil record running from the Early Pleistocene to the present, and every recognized species is currently listed as Least Concern.
