Euptoieta is a genus of brush-footed butterflies, family Nymphalidae, subfamily Heliconiinae, tribe Argynnini, established by Henry Doubleday in 1848, comprising eight recognized species found in the Neotropical ecological zone. Two species carry documented common names, the variegated fritillary, Euptoieta claudia, and the Mexican fritillary, Euptoieta hegesia.
