Grampus

Grampus is a monotypic genus of dolphins, family Delphinidae, containing only Risso's dolphin, Grampus griseus, found nearly worldwide in cold to temperate waters of the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans and in the Baltic, Persian Gulf, Mediterranean, North and Red Seas. It is the largest species commonly called a dolphin, 3 to 4 meters long and 300 to 500 kilograms, recognized by a bulbous head with a vertical crease, few teeth confined to the lower jaw, and heavy white scarring that accumulates with age; calves are grey to brown above and cream below before whitening as they mature.
