Hapalemur, the bamboo lemurs or gentle lemurs, is a genus of six species in the family Lemuridae, living exclusively on Madagascar. Named for their diet, bamboo lemurs prefer damp forests where bamboo grows and are primarily arboreal, with grey brown fur that varies by species, short muzzles and round hairy ears, ranging from 26 to 46 centimeters in length and weighing up to 2.5 kilograms.
