Indri

Indri is a monotypic genus of lemur, family Indriidae, containing the single living species Indri indri, found in lowland and montane forests along the eastern coast of Madagascar from the Reserve Speciale d'Anjanaharibe-Sud in the north to the Mangoro River in the south. Among the largest living lemurs, the indri has a black and white coat, only a rudimentary tail unlike other lemurs, and moves through trees in an upright posture. It is monogamous, living in small family groups that communicate through elaborate songs audible up to four kilometers away.
