Lamprophis is a genus of medium-sized, non-venomous snakes, family Lamprophiidae, the family already live in this atlas from a prior wave, commonly called African house snakes. As of 2022 the genus comprises three recognized species: Lamprophis aurora, the aurora house snake, Lamprophis fiskii, Fisk own house snake, and Lamprophis fuscus, the yellow-bellied house snake. House snakes are found throughout sub-Saharan Africa in a wide variety of habitats, and some species are well adapted to living in burrows.
