Myadestes

Myadestes is a genus of medium-sized, mostly insectivorous birds, family Turdidae, commonly called solitaires, comprising 13 species found across the Americas and Hawaii, with several island species now extinct. The genus name combines Ancient Greek terms for fly and eater, reflecting its members diet, and was established in 1838 by ornithologist William Swainson, who designated the rufous-throated solitaire as the type species.
